About Us Service Above Self Green Lake Rotary is part of District 6270 of Rotary International, which is the world first service club organization. Rotary International has more than 1.2 million members in 32,000 clubs worldwide in 161 countries. Club members are volunteers who work locally, regionally and internationally to combat hunger, improve health, provide education and promote peace under the motto Service Above Self. Our mission is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise. To promote high ethical standards and advance understanding, goodwill and peace through its fellowship of business, professional and community leaders. The Four-Way Test The test, which has been translated into more than 100 languages, asks the following questions: Of the things we think, say or do 1. Is it the truth? 2. Is it fair to all concerned? 3. Will it build goodwill and better friendships? 4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned? Rotary Youth Exchange Each year our club offers a student ages 15-19 the chance to travel abroad for cultural exchanges for a full academic year. Typically the exchange student would stay 3-4 host families. If you would be interested in being a host family, please contact us. This year our exchange student is Rodolfo de Leon Saucedo from Coahuila, Mexico.

Burkart is President of Burkart-Heisdorf Insurance Agency’s Green Lake and Municipal Division. In addition to his Rotary office, Burkart is a Director of the Green Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and a Director and Vice President of the Green Lake Association. Collins was president for 2009-2010. He is Green Lake County District Attorney. Rotary is the only service organization that has dual missions, Decker told the club last week (8/11) – bettering local communities and building bridges internationally. Rotary has 33,000 clubs in 200 countries. The newest club was formed recently in Ramallah, Palestine, under the sponsorship of Rotarians in Jordan and Israel. The Green Lake Rotary Club helps support more than 20 Green Lake area organizations and also sponsors the Red Geranium Fund, which places flowering plants on veterans’ graves at Bluffton and Dartford Cemeteries.
